Program Description

Event Details

Chain maille is a 2000 year old technique worn by worriers across Europe, Middle East, and Asia and is now a stunning form of wearable art. In this chain maille workshop, with professional jeweler BEA Salinas, you'll learn how to turn some of these timeless patterns of connected rings into beautiful, wearable jewelry. You'll be taught how to:

  • Properly open and close jump rings using pliers
  • Identify jump ring sizes and gauges suited for different projects
  • Weave the classic European 4-in-1 pattern—a versatile design used in everything from jewelry to wall hangings to armor.

By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a completed bracelet or another small project of your own creation—ready to wear or gift!

*$15 materials fee is required. To be paid to the presenter at the start of class. Registration required.

*Because chain maille uses fine, small rings, participants should be comfortable with detailed handwork and may wish to bring reading glasses and/or anything else that may be helpful.
