Event Details

Stop by the front of the library to pick up a pair of solar eclipse glasses. We will also have information sheets about the total solar eclipse and coloring activities for children to take home.

While Long Island won't experience a total solar eclipse, 88% coverage is anticipated between 3 and 3:15 PM with lesser coverage before and after that time. 

Supplies are limited. Bring your library card(s) as only one pair of eclipse glasses is available per cardholder! 

By accepting these eclipse glasses, provided to you for free by Long Beach Public Library, to view the sun:

  • You agree that you understand how to use the eclipse glasses safely.
  • You understand and accept the risks associated with improper use of the eclipse glasses.
  • You accept full responsibility for, and assume all risks associated with, the act of viewing the Sun, with or without the use of the eclipse glasses.
  • You agree to indemnify, release and hold harmless the Long Beach Public Library, all of the elected and appointed officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and/or agents, from and against any and all liability, loss, damages, claims, or actions (including costs and attorney fees) for any harm, bodily injury including economic, physical, or mental, including death, or property damage incurred by me, to the fullest extent permissible by law
