Author, teacher, and Long Beach resident William J. McGee will host How to Publish Your Prose, offering practical, real-world advice on sending your essays and other prose to websites, newspapers, and magazines. This workshop will address finding the best publications for your work, how to send queries and proposals, and how to help ensure your writing will capture the attention of editors.

William J. McGee has published two books: the novel Half the Child and Attention All Passengers, a nonfiction exposé on the airline industry. In addition to writing both fiction and nonfiction, he taught both genres for many years at Hofstra University. He has an MFA in Fiction from Columbia University and is the former Editor of Consumer Reports Travel Letter, and has been a travel columnist for USA Today and Frommers.com.
