Long Beach–based attorney and author Christopher Barnett, Esq.—author of the newly published Where the Map Ends: A Parent’s Guide to Navigating New York’s Special Education Jungle—leads a practical and empowering session for parents, caregivers, and educators who want to understand and effectively navigate the complex world of special education in New York.  Participants will learn not only their legal rights but also the human side of advocacy: how to build collaborative relationships with schools, how to keep records that matter, and how to empower their child to thrive both academically and emotionally. The presentation would be 45 minutes with a 15 minute Q&A at the end.
