Program Description

Event Details

In every genocide, gender plays a role. And during the Holocaust, the role of women continued to evolve. In this important presentation led by Avi Marcovitz, Ed.D and PhD, we'll learn whether or not women were safer in the ghetto than the death camps during that time. We'll also explore who were the breadwinners, how women resisted and survived, and the strategies they employed.

Avi Marcovitz, Ed.D and PhD, is the Director of Education at the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County located in Glen Cove, New York.
