Get a glimpse of colonial life in this 18th century historical reenactment from historian and author James Cameron! Cameron plays John Rollison, an 18th century Virginian and free man of color. In this unique historical conversation, we’ll hear about Rollison’s roots as a shoemaker’s apprentice and how he rose to prominence as a plantation owner and proprietor of a flourishing tavern in Williamsburg.  Bring your questions about colonial life!  John Rollison will answer all questions in character throughout this informative program that illustrates the life of this little-known Black Patriot’s journey through historical storyteller James Cameron.

This program is brought to you by Artists in Partnership, Inc. in collaboration with the Long Beach Public Library.
