DESCRIPTION:Marcel Duchamp (1887–1968) is one of the most influential ar
 tists of the modern and post-modern periods. Over a six-decade career, Duc
 hamp challenged the very definition of the object/artwork, and his art has
  been referenced by artists so frequently, the term “Duchampian” has b
 ecome an understood term we use frequently to describe ready-made, mass-pr
 oduced objects incorporated as, or within a work of art.Duchamp contribute
 d to Cubism, Futurism, Da Da, Surrealism, Pop, and trompe l’oeil. Ducham
 p’s pursuits were marked by continuous reinvention and deliberate incons
 istencies.Duchamp&#039;s art will be shown first at MoMA, NYC from April 1
 2th through August 22nd, before traveling to the Philadelphia Museum of Ar
 t Fall in the fall. A smaller version will be offered at Paris’s Grand P
 alais in Spring 2027. The MoMA and Philadelphia Museum will feature approx
 imately 300 artworks offering today’s audiences the first opportunity to
  view the full breadth of Duchamp’s creative output. This exhibition mar
 ks the first retrospective of the artist’s work in the United States sin
 ce 1973.
