Event Details
In this workshop participants will explore various creative tools and techniques, including upcycling of materials, collaging, stenciling, painting, fabric manipulation and more. This workshop will offer a space for connection, sharing and collective creativity! All levels are welcome. Participants may work in a mixed media art journal, sketchbook repurposed hard cover book to transform into an art journal, and or cards.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own personal art materials (brushes, water based paints, markers, pencils etc) as well as ephemera (photographs, collage materials, poetry, etc.) and containers for water.
Denise Gilgannon Collins is a recently retired Long Beach Public School Art teacher. In addition to teaching, she owned and operated The Mermaid Art Studio in Long Beach, a studio for children and adults, from 2013-2015. She is also an active member of the Long Beach Art League and teaches classes at The Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn, NY. Painting, drawing and teaching are her life-long passions.
