Essentials of Companion Planting

Can growing certain plants together increase productivity, pest resistance and longevity? Can growing certain plants together sabotage your success? Yes and yes! Award-winning, international garden writer and gardening coach Jessica Damiano will help separate science from nonsense and show you which plants to pair together to keep your garden healthy and productive.

Jessica Damiano’s weekly AP gardening column is distributed to 1,700 newspapers and 6,000 television and radio stations around the world. She is also a gardening coach, Cornell-trained master gardener, multiple-award-winning journalist and author of (also award-winning) The Weekly Dirt newsletter. Jessica has been featured on NPR’s Weekend Edition, The GardenAmerica Radio Show and the GardenDC podcast, and quoted in The Wall St. Journal, Martha Stewart Living, The Spruce and more. She lives on the North Shore of Long Island with her daughter, dog and a whole bunch of perennials, vegetable plants and weeds.

Whether you're experienced, a beginner, or just love to garden, all are welcome! We meet on the third Friday of every month at 11:30 AM in the LBPL Program Room.
